Full details and discussions thus far can be found at:\n\nhttps://forum.sushi.com/discussion/1312123-masterchef-lp-migration-to-v3-protocoldeployed-liquidity-rfc\n\n# TL;DR\n\n- Sushi currently has **tens of millions of dollars in LP tokens staked in legacy MasterChef & MiniChef contracts** across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Gnosis, and Polygon. (**~$56–57m** (approximate, fluctuates with prices).\n- Much of this liquidity is **inactive and/or underutilized** but still locked in outdated emissions contracts and highly inefficient V2style pools.\n- We propose to:\n\t1. **Catalog all staked LP by wallet → LP amount** using subgraphs and on-chain data.\n\t2. **Migrate LP tokens out of MasterChefs** via a new _Migrator_ contract into a designated V2 LP collector.\n\t3. **Produce official block of migration snapshot** for each pools and it's LPs.\n\t4. **Open a public claim window (30–60 days)** where LPs can prove ownership and request withdrawal.\n\t5. **Aggregate remaining LP and programmatically redeploy the underlying into V3-style positions as protocol-deployed liquidity in conformance with governance-approved parameters**, while preserving a mechanism for users to **claim their share** later if they return.\n- The Sushi core team expects this architecture, once fully deployed across the targeted pools and chains, to generate material protocol fee revenues.\n- We intend for a **majority** of these protocol fees to be captured by the **Sushi Foundation** and **compounded back into protocol-deployed liquidity on core networks, with a portion reserved for the Sushi Bar** and **SUSHI rewards** for historical LP addresses included in this migration.\n\nThis Implementation **only** covers:\n- migration of LP tokens out of MasterChefs/MiniChefs,\n- the claim system,\n- and the plan to redeploy idle LP into V3 positions as **protocol-deployed liquidity**.\n\nThis proposal does **_not_** extinguish, impair, or forfeit any user withdrawal rights associated with LP balances recorded at the snapshot.
